Surrey Municipal Election

The administration of local elections is a shared responsibility between local governments and Elections BC.

The BC government is responsible for maintaining and from time to time, making changes to the core local elections legislative framework including the Local Government Act and the Local Elections Campaign Financing Act.

The City of Surrey is bound by the Local Elections Campaign Financing Act and the Local Government Act for the municipal election to provide a legal foundation for local governments to represent the needs of their communities.
