Releaf Tree Planting

A group planting a large shade tree on a boulevard

Help grow Surrey's urban forest by planting trees and shrubs in Surrey parks and along boulevards!

Since 1991, volunteers have planted over 10,000 trees throughout Surrey. Thousands of volunteers have made an impact. Every tree planted creates shade, improves air quality, provides food and shelter for wildlife, and boosts biodiversity in parks.

We provide the plants, shovels, and instruction - you just have to bring your love for beautifying our City and enhancing the trees in Surrey.

Public Events

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our public planting events this season. If you want to stay involved over the winter, join us for a nature work party. We'll be preparing planting sites for the next planting season.

Secondary Schools

Each April we plant in community parks and along boulevards. Since these trees are larger, we typically work with secondary school students.

Clubs and classes welcome. Contact us at stewardship@surrey.ca to get involved.

Elementary Schools

Planting can be included as part of the new Park Stewards school program.

Community Groups

Please contact us at stewardship@surrey.ca with any planting enquiries.

Releaf Badges

Groups can purchase Releaf badges for $2 each, including tax. Please let us know how many badges you would like when requesting a planting.
