Guildford Recreation Centre

Early settlement in Guildford occurred in the Township of Port Kells which, in 1891, was connected by rail service to New Westminster. Since then, development has predominantly been centred around 152 Street and 104 Avenue in the area of Guildford Town Centre Mall.

Businesses located in this area have good access to the freeway and are also well positioned in relation to Surrey City Centre. More recently, residential development has occurred in the neighbourhood of Fraser Heights overlooking the Fraser River.

Guildford affords its residents excellent recreational opportunities in the form of the Guildford and Fraser Heights Recreation Centres as well as 2 regional parks. Tynehead Regional Park offers natural walking trails, picnic areas and dog off leash areas, and is home to the Tynehead Fish Hatchery. Surrey Bend Regional Park provides access to the Fraser River for non-motorized boating activity.
