Summer Classes

Really Uncoordinated Dancers - Drop In Sessions Now Available!
Want the joy of dancing without the pressure of being any good? Are you brand new to dance or want to return to the basics? Then this class is for you! A professional dance instructor will guide the lead-of-foot but joyful-of-heart through a musical theatre/jazz class, breaking everything down to its simplest components. A typical class involves a warm-up, technique, choreography, and a cool-down.

Art MashUp - Puppets!
Dive into the world of puppets! Spend the first half of the day making puppets from scratch and the second half creating spooky stories together for Halloween with their new puppets. Kids will explore and create with different materials, then play storytelling and drama games, engaging their imaginations in a fun and supportive environment.

Art MashUp - Masks!
Dive into the world of masks! Spend the first half of the day creating their masks using all sorts of different materials, and the second half exploring character creation, playing a variety of drama and storytelling games, and improvising scenes with their masks in a fun and supportive environment.

Workshops

Paint at the Play
Let your kids have fun and get their hands dirty with a variety of creative art projects while you have some time to yourself. Scheduled to coincide with a matinee performance of The Piano Teacher, part of the Arts Club Series of entertaining, live professional theatre. Paint at the Play is free with the purchase of a theatre ticket, or $24 on its own. Pre-registration is required.

Actors will have a blast as they experience the excitement of acting on camera! Professional actor and filmmaker Orsy Szabo will lead this fast-paced, fun and informative class for students interested in film work. Bonus: Parents can come to the final class to view some of their child's best work!

Are you curious about how to speak with more confidence or connect with people more easily? Adults Acting Out - Level 2
Have some previous experience with acting or drama classes and want to dig deeper with the skills needed and explore the more complex aspects of Acting? In this Level 2 of Adults Acting Out we will continue to hone your skills as an Actor, using scene and monologue work to grow your skills, and culminate our class time with a showcase at the end of the course. Some previous performance experience required.

Discover the secrets of singing and take your voice to new levels with professional recording artist, Rhayne. Love to Sing Vocal Group - Level 2
Learn advanced singing techniques with professional recording artist Rhayne, as we delve further into each singing style from jazz, blues, R&B, classics, pop, rock, and musical theatre in a group setting. We'll explore portraying emotion through voice and subtle movement, and have opportunities to perform for the community outside of class. Artist Masterclass Series

Master artists from a variety of practices hailing from around the country will lead students through different aspects of the performing arts throughout the year! Here are the first two.

Artist Masterclass Series - Fight Combat
In this two day workshop, students will learn the basic principles of safe hand-to-hand stage combat, including principles and practices to follow in any stage combat situation with a variety of techniques (from strikes to falls and grappling), then progressing to the sword on day two! Focusing on rapiers or epees, students will cover a sample of attacks, defenses, and at least one kill technique. Sword combat is as fun to perform as it is to watch and students will focus on maintaining this sense of fun, while providing the illusion of danger, and protecting their partner above all else.

Artist Masterclass Series - The Wonderheads
The WONDERHEADS will introduce the fundamental process by which they bring a mask to life, using physical expression and articulation as the primary means of character creation and storytelling. Students will leave with a greater sense of physical awareness, and a better understanding of how to use physical expression and articulation to create a fully realized character. This is a physical workshop intended for Actors, Dancers, Directors, Writers, Teachers, Devisers, and anyone with a curious spirit!
