Pop Up Junk Drop events are now over, but come back next year for our 2018 dates! Thank you to everyone who made our 2017 event a success.

Get rid of household items you can’t put out during your regular waste collection service during upcoming junk drop off events in Surrey. Please note this is for City of Surrey residents only.​

Important Rules

ID Required

To gain entry, you must present a valid government issued identification that proves you are a Surrey resident. No valid ID means no entry.

No Hazardous Materials

No drywall or hazardous waste or fuel. Vehicles with drywall or hazardous materials will be turned away.

Help Us by Pre-Sorting

Please ensure that your items are pre-sorted in your vehicle to ensure quick and easy drop-off at the event. For your reference, the drop-off areas in squence will be as follows: recycling, renovation/furniture and donations/reusable


Donations of gently used clothing and housewares accepted, but no large items such as furniture will be accepted as donations.

Maximum Size and Type of Vehicles

  • Vehicle size maximum 1 ton. Any truck larger than 1 ton will be turned away.
  • No trailers with hydraulic lifts and/or larger than 8 ft. long.
  • No commercial vehicles. 
  • Please limit 1 trip per household for 1 ton trucks.


Accepted items

 City of Surrey residents can bring up to a pick-up load of materials (one-ton maximum size).

Drop off any of the following accepted items:

  • Furniture & Mattresses: Couches, chairs, mattresses, and other household furniture
  • Electronics: Computers, televisions, and other household electronics
  • Small Appliances: vacuums, scales, countertop appliances, hair dryers, fans, irons, power tools, sewing machines, typewriters, exercise equipment
  • Appliances and Scrap Metal: Fridges, freezers, washers, dryers, and other large household appliances, scrap metal and bicycles
  • Household Renovation Waste: Clean wood (no paint, stains, glues or chemical treatments; however, the wood may be pierced with nails or metal fasteners such as screws or staples), sinks, toilets
  • Other Household Items: Styrofoam, tires (please remove rims), mixed paper (including cardboard), printed paper, cardboard food packaging, mixed plastic (toys, household items, garden furniture, etc), gently used clothes (for donation), infant car seats
  • Lighting Products: light bulbs and tubes, lighting fixtures, lighting ballasts and transformers

Items Accepted for Donation

You can also donate any reusable items that are in good condition at the event. Salvation Army and Diabetes Canada will be gathering the following items for donation:

  • Gently Used Clothing
  • Clothing Accessories (shoes, purses, hats, etc.)
  • Used Sports or Recreational Equipment
  • Small Electrical Appliances
  • Housewares (dishes, cutlery, cookware)
  • Tools
  • Decor Items

Unaccepted items

We will not accept commercial waste and we will not accept waste from commercial vehicles.

  • Hazardous Construction Waste: No asbestos containing materials, drywall, plaster, joint compound, vinyl flooring, ceiling tiles, vermiculite, old chimney bricks, explosives, or ammunition
  • Commercial Waste: No dirt, rocks, sand, drywall, concrete, asbestos containing materials, or unidentified waste from commercial properties
  • Hazardous Household Waste: No paint, solvents, flammable liquids, gasoline, or pesticides
  • Other Unaccepted Items: No animal waste, animal carcasses, car parts (tires are accepted), or lead-acid batteries.
