Fleetwood Park has it all: from picnic shelters and play areas (including a spray park) to scenic gardens and nature trails, there is something for everyone to enjoy and explore! The nature trail loop in the park is 1.8 kilometres long and takes about 30 minutes to walk.

Fleetwood Park Guidelines

Many families gather to relax and play in the grassy area along 80 Ave. Enjoy the playground and Fleetwood Gardens year-round from dawn to dusk.

In the park's southern section, you'll find a designated Urban Forest where many animals and plants flourish. While exploring the trails, please keep yourself and your dog on trail at all times to help protect the park's sensitive streams and other natural areas.

In the summer, check out the spray park from 10am to 8pm.

Picnic Shelters

Fleetwood Park is a great place to host a picnic. There are 4 picnic shelters in Fleetwood Park: 1 located west of the garden and 3 located west of the playground.

Picnic shelters are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. If you’re having a picnic or hosting an event in a Surrey park please review the Park Activity Guidelines. Steps to hosting an event at Fleetwood Park will differ if you’re looking to host a public event.

Fleetwood Gardens

Located at the corner of 80th Avenue and 160th Street, Fleetwood Gardens are open all year-round from dawn until dusk and are a must-see.

Fleetwood Gardens are truly a garden mosaic. The gardens feature a large pergola which is covered with wisteria and clematis to form a green and fragrant central walkway. Nearby, a classically designed knot garden is planted with 3 different varieties of boxwood, which are pruned to create the illusion of being woven together. An award-winning perennial border contains over 100 varieties of perennials as well as an assortment of shrubs, trees and bulbs.

The centre of the gardens also feature a European-style Bosque, comprised of 50 red maples. As the trees mature, they'll create a unique garden. To the south and east, a Woodland Garden winds through an existing forest grove and features a wide variety of shade plants.

The most recent development is a classic, 7-circuit labyrinth. The labyrinth provides a wonderful opportunity to quiet the mind and relax the body. Fleetwood Gardens are a great setting for wedding and graduation photos and a tranquil place to sit and enjoy a peaceful moment surrounded by flowers.

Fleetwood Park was named after Lance Corporal Arthur Thomas Fleetwood, whose family settled here in the early 1900s and owned large plots of land. Thomas during World War I, and at his sister's request, the surrounding community was named after him. When the park opened in the late 1930s, on the eve of World War II, the name 'Fleetwood' was a natural fit.
