Curriculum Current Programs

Inspire your students by letting them experience farm life at the turn of the 20th century with an unforgettable visit to the Historic Stewart Farm's 1894 farmhouse and grounds. Costumed docents help students imagine and learn about the lives of settlers and their families in long-ago Surrey, always keeping current with the new curriculum. We are also offering double the amount of programs this school year!

The programs are an excellent value, each with teachers' notes, a resource listing and pre/post program activities with activity/project ideas, online and print resources and a recommended reading/video listing. The school programs are inquiry based and hands on. Our highly trained docents work with small groups and cater to different learning  methods. Programs offered include:

Planning Your Visit

If you have some extra time before or after your school program, consider incorporating a tour of the heritage garden and orchard, the walking trails and the outbuildings. Follow this checklist before your visit to ensure your class has the best time possible:

  • Divide children into groups depending on the program
  • Arrive at least five minutes early
  • Make nametags for the children
  • Bring your camera
  • Turn off the ringer on your phone
